I'm Aqeeq Jahangir. My family has grown Alphonso mangoes in Murud, Konkan for three generations. Every year, at least a dozen people ask me some version of the same question: "How do I get the real Alphonso β€” not the stuff from the market?"

The honest answer is: you come to the farm. But most people can't do that. So I built FarmBazaar β€” a way for anyone in India to own the complete harvest of one of our specific, named trees, with the full trust and traceability of buying directly from me.

This guide explains everything: what tree adoption actually is, how it works in practice, what you receive, and why β€” if you care about getting real Alphonso mangoes β€” it's the best option available today.

What Exactly is Tree Adoption?

Tree adoption (also called harvest ownership or farm-direct harvest booking) is simple: instead of buying mangoes by the kilo from a market or online store, you pre-book the complete seasonal yield of one specific, named tree on a real farm.

The tree has a name or number. It's a real tree β€” you can see its photo, its location on our farm, its approximate age, and its expected yield in kilograms. You pay for that harvest once, before the season, and when the mangoes are ripe, we pick them, pack them, and ship them directly to you.

🌳 A simple example

Tree #12 on our Murud farm is a 22-year-old Alphonso. It typically yields 80–100 kg per season. You book Tree #12 for β‚Ή4,500. In May, we harvest all 90 kg, pack them, and courier them to your address. You get everything from that one tree β€” no one else gets any of it.

That's it. No subscription. No monthly fee. One tree, one season, one payment, one harvest to your door.

How FarmBazaar Works β€” Step by Step

1

Browse tree listings

Go to farmbazaar.in and browse available trees. Each listing has a real photo of the tree, location on the farm, estimated yield, variety (Alphonso, Kesar, Elaichi Banana), and the harvest price.

2

Book & pay securely

Pay online via Razorpay β€” UPI, credit/debit card, net banking, all accepted. Your booking is confirmed instantly and the tree is marked as yours. No one else can book it.

3

Receive updates from your farmer

After booking, I'll send you WhatsApp photos and updates as the season progresses β€” flowering, fruit set, and finally harvest day. You're part of the process.

4

Harvest is picked & packed at dawn

On harvest day, mangoes are picked at dawn when they're coolest. Packed the same morning. No cold storage β€” they go straight from the tree to the courier.

5

Delivered fresh to your door

1–3 days within Maharashtra, 2–5 days pan-India. You receive your entire harvest β€” everything that came off your specific tree, yours alone.

"When the mangoes arrive, they smell like the farm. Because they left the farm this morning."

Common Questions

What happens if my tree has a bad season?

Every listing states a guaranteed minimum yield. If the tree falls short of that, I top it up with fruit from another tree of the same variety on our farm. If I can't top up for any reason, you get a proportionate refund. You are always covered.

Can I visit the farm to see my tree?

Yes β€” and I'd love that. Our farm is in Murud, Raigad district, Maharashtra. If you want to visit during the season (February–May), just WhatsApp me and I'll arrange it. Several buyers come every year.

When is the Alphonso season?

Alphonso season in Murud typically runs mid-February to mid-May. The peak for flavour and aroma is usually March–April. Most harvests are dispatched in April.

Do I get the mangoes all at once or in batches?

Most trees are harvested in 1–2 sittings as the fruit matures. If your tree has a large yield, I may split it into two dispatches a week apart, so you receive fresher fruit in smaller batches.

Is this the same as "renting" a tree?

You might see the concept called "rent a tree" β€” it's the same idea. You pay for one season's harvest rights. The tree stays on our farm; you receive all the fruit it produces that year. Some call it adoption, some call it renting, some call it harvest ownership. We call it the most honest way to buy a mango.

What varieties are available?

Our primary listing is Alphonso (Hapus) from Murud, Konkan β€” the GI-tagged variety that the Konkan coast is famous for. We also list Elaichi Banana and occasionally Kesar when stock permits. Check current listings for availability.
